Welcome to the August/September 2000,slim pickins Update
as always click the pics for the full image

Well august brought slow fishing, infact almost non existant. No one locally was catching cats. Even the old timers weren't catching. Seemed like everytime I got on fish they would disapear quick like. One old timer said he thought the fish were seeing the boat, he experienced the same disapearing act. I quit anchoring and started drift fishing in 50 ft of water near the main river channel (edge).I picked up a few cats, not alot but more than anyone else was catching. Pictured here 4 blues and 4 channels, total weight 50lbs,drifting using live shad and shad heads mixed.

Pictured here 8 bluecats, total weight of 82lbs, still drift fishing

The month of September, hmmmmmm---I would have bet the farm that we would have started picking up lots of bluecats in the deep holes and on deep structure but the Ohio River has been up ad down so much this year and has never really settled into its summer pool. We did catch a few cats, but nothing to write home about
This blue cat was actually caught on october 1 weight was 20lb caught on a shad head in 65 ft of water, fishing an under water ledge
